Healthy pocket and a healthy lifestyle all RUBBISH!
My appologies for the break in posts, its the heat, I slow down (slower that usual). It got so bad today I even asked a customer who preaches in their local church to ask if we could turn the thermostat down a bit, please. She laughed and added that it was doing her husband's tomatoes a lot of good. No joy there! How ever, on an even hotter sticky day, I got into conversation with someone I met at a wedding ( I am released into the community occasionally) and the subject of "Smoking shelters" came up. Now this is not going to get political or anything, but here is what she said. I have had some sales information from a company called Pan Products that designs and supplies "Smoking Shelters that comply with the latest legislation". Ever willing to broaden my horizons I asked her more, and it turned out that she had the brochure in her car. Anything to miss long-winded fathe- in-law speeches! To cut a long story short, on seeing the brochure I exclaimed, "this is printed with our remanufactured printer cartridges" - I recognised the company as a customer . The lady was quite impressed at what an ethical company this was as they used environmentally friendly printer cartriges ( which they also recycle) and made products which enriched people's life-styles (from both sides of the smoking debate). So there you have it, use remanufactured printer cartridges, have a healthy bank balance and promote healthy living. Not bad going for a piece of rubbish is it!

How to keep on running when you run out!
What do you do when you have run out of Black ink in your printer, you have a "Cannot miss dead line"( the reason it has run out now), and your local supplier has no stock of the cartridge you require untill the following day? A situation we have all been in and will go to again ( human nature with me, whats your excuse?) You could change your supplier, but why fall out with some one you have happily dealt with for years the first time they slip up. A lot of trust and good will down the drain in one go, not a good idea. You can buy another printer they all come with cartridges in ( please see previous blog about the amount of ink in these cartridges you get with new printers) and would enable you to meet your deadline. Not a good idea as you would have to install it and then reset all the print parameters for your documents. Or you can do what a customer of mine did, Cleve runs a busy Nation wide courier business ( www.lincolnlogistics.co.uk) and he had a load of invoices to get out that day. A very annoying situation as any business person knows. I would rarther have a boil in the wrong place! was Cleves reply when I told him we were out of stock of his cartridge. So Cleve being Cleve he came up with a solution, "I WILL PRINT THEM ALL IN DARK BLUE AS I STILL HAVE INK IN MY COLOUR CARTRIDGE AND THE BLACK ONE IS STILL SHOWING SOME IN, even though it has run out and will not print. So for the sake of altering the font colour on his PC, he was able to get his invoices out. Simple, EFFECTIVE and in this case it worked. So there you are, if a situation seems unsurmountable think about it some more because there is usualy an answer staring you in the face. I do wish some answers would come and bite me personaly as I very often cannot see them! By the way I would never play poker with Cleve , he just smiles at you and you cannot tell what he is thinking.

We all operate better when we are full !
Hello again, Its been incredably busy here over the last week and hence no posts, but now I have a minute and have caught breath I am hitting the keyboard. This last week has been so busy that at times I have felt rarther depleted, empty of enthusiasm and go! (and this is Monday morning), a feeling that we all get from time to time.
In my previous employment as a racing car engine builder I learnt that machines behave like people some times, my laser printer cetainly seems to have a personality of its own at times. It can be addmitted here that we used to talk to engines and ask them not to play up. Any one who has done the job may or may admit to this, depending on the company prescent.
My first job this morning was to print off the web site orders from the weekend, I opened up google and went to my site, highlited the new orders and hit the print button. Well ok right clicked my mouse over the print Icon. The result? a lot of flashing lights and noise but no printed orders. Now if you follow this Blog you will have gatherd that printers flashing lights at me is not one of my favourite pastimes. "What is up Now" I cried (more in frustration than amazement, it is Monday morning remember), It then dawned on me that the printer wanted a new ink cartridge, Yellow in this case. On replacing the Yellow cartridge all was restored to normality, which brings me to the point of this story.
No printer that I know of will work without a full set of cartridges, even if you do not want to print anything in the colour of the empty cartridge. It does not matter wether your printer has 6 individual cartridges or 1 black & 1 colour. The printer has to register that it is full of ink before it will print.
Think about it "Do you want ot do any work when you feel empty/ hungry?" no, you do not and neither does your printer.
